Industries we work with
Two sectors where the problems rhyme: physical inventory, real lead times, and planning decisions that have to be made before the information is complete.
Sectors
-
Raw material inventory, production planning, lead-time variability, and the gaps an MRP leaves behind when the master data underneath it is unreliable.
-
Spare parts and MRO inventory, long and variable lead times, project-based demand that defeats standard forecasting, and supplier concentration risk.
What these sectors have in common
The industries differ, but the operating conditions are remarkably consistent. Every company we work with recognises most of this list.
- An ERP that holds the transactions but does not support the planning decisions.
- At least one critical spreadsheet maintained by one person.
- Supplier lead times that are quoted as a single number and delivered as a range.
- Stock that is simultaneously too high in total and too low where it matters.
- No in-house data team, and no appetite to build one.
- Customers asking harder questions about traceability and supplier data than they did three years ago.
None of these require a platform purchase to improve. They require the existing data to be made reliable and the recurring decisions to be made with it.
Common questions
Do you only work in these two sectors?
These are where most of our work sits, because the problems rhyme: physical inventory, real lead times, and planning decisions made under uncertainty. We take work outside them when the shape of the problem is the same. If you are unsure, the assessment is a cheap way to find out.
How small is too small?
Below roughly ten employees there is often not enough item-level history or enough complexity for the work to pay back, and we will say so. The useful threshold is not headcount but catalogue size and decision frequency: if one person can hold every item in their head, you probably do not need us yet.
We are in both of these. Does that matter?
No, and it is common — a fabricator that also distributes, or a manufacturer with a large MRO store. The method is the same; the emphasis shifts. We scope against your actual operation rather than a sector template.
